Typewise Keyboard 3.0 claims to beat Google and Microsoft’s autocorrect

Typewise Keyboard 3.0 claims to beat Google and Microsoft’s autocorrect

Typically 3.0 is a new version of a keyboard app that some of you may have heard of. This version launched today and should be available through the Play Store from today.

That being said, this is not your usual QWERTY keyboard. We’ve talked about Typewise in the past, and the company’s odd layout isn’t new. What makes this keyboard quite interesting is the company’s claim that it offers superior autocorrect.

Typewise Keyboard 3.0 claims to offer better autocorrect than Gboard and SwiftKey

Typewise claims that in version 3.0, the Typewise keyboard beats both offerings from Google (Gboard) and Microsoft (SwiftKey). Needless to say, the vast majority of Android users use Gboard, so if that’s true, that’s a big deal and quite interesting.

It has been about a year and a half since we talked about Typewise, and the layout hasn’t changed much. What has changed is the functionality, as this app is now smarter than ever.

This keyboard features a honeycomb-style keyboard layout (although you can also go for a regular layout), which is specially designed for smartphones. Likewise, normal keyboards produce about 1 in 5 words with a typo. Likewise, it would allegedly reduce 4x typos, and also result in 33% faster typing.

Note, however, that getting used to this keyboard will take some time. Once you’ve done that, this keyboard has the ability to automatically detect what language you’re currently typing and switch to it (for auto-correction purposes).

The company says it will help you even when you type in a dialect or use colloquialisms. It should also be noted that the keyboard supports over 40 languages as we speak.

Privacy is extremely important to Typewise

To make everything even more appealing, the company says privacy is its top priority. The Typewise app, or third-party apps, can access your input data. All AI algorithms run on your device once you install the app, for privacy reasons.

If all of this sounds interesting to you, you should at least try the app for yourself. You can download it via the link below.
