Twitter reacts to Mavericks big man Kristaps Porzingis’ performance in series against Clippers
The Mavericks were eliminated from the NBA playoffs on Sunday in Game 7 against the Clippers despite another 40-point effort from Luke Doncic.
A focal point of fan reviews on Twitter: Dallas big man Kristaps Porzingis.
After the 126-111 loss to the Mavs, social media users jumped on Porzingis not only for his efforts in the last game of the first round series, but also for his overall playoff performance.
It was certainly a playoff series for him to forget. He finished Game 7 with 16 points, 11 rebounds and an assist while making 6 of 12 shots from the field and posting a 0 for 5 effort from beyond the arc. Porzingis finished the series with three games under 10 points and no game over 20. Sunday was the only game where he hit double-digit rebounds.
Porzingis concluded his second full season with Dallas after arriving in a Knicks trade in January 2019. The Mavs signed him for a five-year, $ 158 million contract extension in July 2019. According to Spotrac, he won $ 29,467,800 in the 2020-21 season. As one Twitter account pointed out, that’s more than what several other great NBA players are doing.
Kristaps Porzingis averaged 13 points, 5 rebounds and 1 threesome per game in these playoffs.

Many Twitter users have speculated on Porzingis’ future and have suggested he could play abroad next year.
Others have suggested that Doncic, who has scored over 30 points in five of the series’ seven games and over 40 in three of them, was not happy with his teammate’s performance.
