Higher inflation is here to stay, according to seasoned investment strategist David Roche, who described the consider the higher prices to be temporary as “most unlikely”.
Talk to CNBC Pro Conferences On Wednesday, Roche – who correctly predicted the demise of the Soviet bloc, the fall of the Berlin Wall and the 2008 global financial crisis – disagreed with economists who believe the current peak in inflation is transient.
It comes as markets anxiously await Thursday’s U.S. Consumer Price Index for May to assess the extent and longevity of the spike in inflation, and the likelihood that the U.S. Federal Reserve will need to enter into talks. on reducing its monetary stimulus program.
