Spotify launches Only You, an overview of your listening habits
Spotify announced a new in-app experience called Only you which offers a preview of how you listen with the streaming service. Only You offers users personalized playlists in a shareable form at the Spotify wrapped. However, unlike Wrapped, which celebrates the artist, music, and podcasts you’ve streamed the most in a year, which is what you listen to, Only You focuses on visualizing your music habits. diffusion. The new Only You in-app experience on Spotify includes “Your Dream Dinner Party,” which lets you select the three artists you would invite to a dinner party. the application will then create a personalized mix for each artist. There is also “Your Artist Pairs”, which collects your recent audio pairs. This will show you your range of listening interests, like the ones you listen to after a certain artist.
“Your Audio Birth Chart” is a “musical encounter of cosmic proportions”. This will give you your “Sun Sign”, the artist you have listened to the most over the past six months; your “Moon Sign”, the artist you listen to and who best shows your emotional side; and your “Rising Sign”, an artist you’ve recently started listening to.
The next step is “Your Song Year”, which indicates the period of origin of your favorite music. “Your time of day”, on the other hand, shows how your musical tastes vary at different times of the day. Finally, “Your genres / topics” will bring together a combination of musical genres and podcasts that you mainly listen to.
Spotify says that once you’ve gone through this visualized experience, the app will offer you personalized playlists based on your listening habits. These Spotify mixes will be available even after the end of the Only You campaign. The campaign is available for Free and Premium users and will end on June 30, 2021.
Spotify Blend will merge the musical taste of two friends
Along with Only You, Spotify is also announcing a new feature called Blend. It will allow two friends to merge their musical tastes in an organized playlist. Spotify will automatically update this organized mix on a daily basis, depending on the evolution of the participant’s listening habits.
You can mix up with your friend through the Made For You hub on the Spotify mobile app. While you can only invite one friend to a Blend, you can mix with as many friends as you want. You will need to separately invite each friend you want to mingle with.
Spotify Blend is also a mobile-only experience and is now available worldwide for Free and Premium users. However, it is currently in beta and will continue to evolve over time based on user feedback.
