Sony is making a movie about the 2020s best ps4 game and one of the best games on the PS4 overall, Ghost of Tsushima. The film will be directed by Chad Stahelski, who also directed the John Wick trilogy.
What that means for fans of the game, as well as the John Wick movies, is that Ghost Of Tsushima in movie form should offer a ton of action-packed scenes.
Other than Stahelski’s involvement, there isn’t much information about the film yet. This leaves a lot of questions open. For example, whether the movie will actually be shot on Tsushima Island and whether or not the story will follow that of the game.
Ghost Of Tsushima Movie To Get Help From Game Development Studio
As well as being led by the man behind the vision for John Wick’s now insanely famous action scenes, the film will benefit from support from the game’s development studio, Sucker Punch Productions, as well as PlayStation Productions, Sony’s division, in creating films based on its games.
With Sucker Punch on board, that should help the film’s storyline move forward well once things are in full swing. The story of Ghost Of Tsushima is based on the Mongol invasion of the Japanese island of Tsushima in 1274. The main hero of the game is Jin Sakai, who comes from a prominent family of samurai.
During the game, he is forced to let go of some of his core beliefs in order to fight. But in doing so, he must come to terms with the decision to relinquish his honor. A decision he takes to save his people. The whole experience is an emotional roller coaster with some very well directed fights and top notch voice acting.
Who will Sony use for the casting?
This is still unknown. But Sony has a wonderful opportunity here to fill all possible roles with the same cast as in the game.
The main character of the game, for example, has already appeared in numerous television and film productions. Jin Sakai is voiced by Daisuke Tsuji. Which has a mix of roles from The Man In The High Castle to Letters From Iwo Jima. He also appears in other video games voicing various roles.
Patrick Gallagher, who plays the game’s main antagonist Khotun Khan, has an extremely long list of roles. Then there’s a big chunk of the supporting cast, like Earl T. Kim, who voices one of Ghost Of Tsushima’s cutest characters, Norio the Warrior Monk.
While there is no guarantee that Sony will use any of the in-game actors for the movie roles, it would be foolish not to. See how well each of them portrayed their characters.
