Razer’s new gaming mouse has over a month of battery life
Razer today launches the Orochi V2 gaming mouse. The next iteration of the popular Orochi is designed to be a top-notch option for laptop users.
Of course, the Orochi V2 is also perfect for desktop users. Especially those who are worried about the battery life. The mouse is also very light and comes in a few different colors. Standard matte black and mercury white razer. Unlike most other wireless gaming mice offered by Razer, the Orochi V2 is powered by a single AA battery.
It also doesn’t offer some of the more advanced features you’ll find on mice such as Ultimate Viper. It does, however, feature Razer’s HyperSpeed wireless technology, as well as six programmable buttons and 2nd-gen Razer’s mechanical mouse switches. Razer says these are rated up to 60 million clicks. So expect this to last for a while.
Razer Orochi V2 gaming mouse has over 900 hours of battery life
Most gaming mice can give you up to a week of battery life before needing a recharge. But not the Orochi V2.
Razer says it can last over 900 hours (up to 950) as long as the mouse is in Bluetooth Low Energy mode. That is at least 37 days of continuous use. There’s a good chance the batteries will last a lot longer than that, as most people won’t use them for more than 37 consecutive days. It is more than likely that it will last you for months at a time.
What makes this possible is the use of an AA lithium battery. As opposed to a rechargeable battery like Razer’s other wireless mouse options. This means that you need to completely replace the battery at some point. But AA batteries are cheap and you only need one. So a pack of 8 lithium-based AA batteries could last up to two years with the Orochi V2.
And you’ll never have to recharge it or worry about it dying while in use. However, you will get a lot less battery life if you use an alkaline-based AA battery, so keep that in mind.
There is a Razer Customs version with a bunch of cool design options
Want something with a little more uniqueness? Then you can aim for the Razer Customs version of the Orochi V2 which offers a ton of different styling options.
The Razer Customs version costs $ 90 compared to the standard model’s $ 70 price tag. So you pay a bit more to have the ability to create a design there. You can also add text with black or white font colors so that you can add things like your gamertag.
The Razer Orochi V2 gaming mouse is available from Razer.com and authorized resellers as of today. Although you can only get the Customs model from Razer directly.
