Never lose track of your favorite music with Spotify’s new library
Spotify today pushed a library overhaul that helps you keep track of your favorite music. Specifically, any music or podcasts that you have downloaded.
The Your Library feature itself isn’t new, but it has been revamped as part of today’s update. And the new design is aimed at faster and more convenient searches of downloaded content. Spotify recognizes that it has a lot of content to browse.
And he knows that some users may have trouble finding things from time to time. With that in mind, the company set out to create a more efficient way to find recorded content. And he thinks the new Your Library will achieve that goal.
Spotify Your Library redesign allows for more streamlined exploration
The rationalization here is deceptively simple, but it still works. All Spotify had to do was consolidate the music and podcasts that you saved to your library in one place. And in doing so, it makes things a lot easier to navigate because you don’t have to move between different menus and screens.
Now when users want to browse this content, everything is in one place. Which should mean less browsing time and more listening time. Although it probably depends on whether or not you like this new look of things.
Your library now also includes improved organization. With three new sorting options to filter things. With the new sorting options, you can divide content by recently played tracks, creator names, or alphabetically. Just in case you really want to search for things this way.
There is also the new grid view. So you don’t have to worry about tiny pictures when browsing songs. Now you get a nice and big tile cover for all your stuff.
Try the new dynamic filters
Spotify added new dynamic filters to lists with this update. This allows users to browse by artist, album, playlist or podcast.
When you tap on any of these filters, any content that matches that category will be left behind while everything else is filtered out. Another great helper for keeping things organized when looking for something to listen to.
You can even download the filter to keep this sort useful for offline use. The update to the Spotify app must be online for everyone at once on Android and iOS devices. if you don’t see it yet, give it time to arrive throughout the day.
