Microsoft’s new Xbox Series X headset launches tomorrow

Last month Microsoft revealed a brand new wireless stereo headset for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. Stating that it would arrive in mid-March, Microsoft put the headset up for pre-order on the same date as the announcement.

Allow consumers to lock in their opportunities to get one of these headsets before launch. Since these were pre-orders, the headset wouldn’t ship until the actual launch date, but at least the headset would have been paid for.

Between now and last month’s announcement, pre-order stock has been depleted at most of the retailers where the new Xbox Series X stereo headset is sold. This includes Microsoft’s online store, Amazon, Target, GameStop, and even Best Buy. But there are other helmets along the way.

New Xbox Series X Wireless Stereo Headset Launches March 16

If you haven’t had a chance to pre-order the headset, you’ll have the option to purchase one immediately after tomorrow’s launch. At least some retailers, such as Best Buy and Target, say there will be more inventory coming.

While Best Buy’s webpage for the headset says it’s coming soon, Target says pre-order stock is running out. But that consumers should check the release date. With the release date a day away, Xbox Series X owners looking for a headset option should keep an eye out for the stock to go live. Which could technically happen anytime after 12pm PST.

Connects directly to your console without the need for a dongle

If there is one major advantage of this headset over others, it’s wireless connectivity. This does not mean that this headset is the only one available to connect wirelessly. This is certainly not the case.

But it connects wirelessly without the need for a dongle. It will therefore partner directly with the Xbox Series X, which makes things more convenient for the gamer. It also keeps the ports free on the console.

But there are other notable features of the helmet as well. Like the ability to automatically mute the microphone when it knows you’re not speaking. Another feature aimed at convenience.

It also supports spatial sound with Microsoft Sonic, Dolby Atmos, and DTS Headphone: X. Since these are wireless headphones, you will need to charge them every now and then. On a single charge, the battery will last approximately 15 hours. If you are looking to get one of these headsets for your own setup, you can check out various large retailers from the button below.
