Looter Shooter Outriders launches on Stadia on April 1

From April 1 Stadiums players will be able to start Outriders, the highly anticipated loot shooter coming from Square Enix.

While the game is published by Square Enix, Outriders is being developed by People Can Fly. The studio is behind the development of many hugely successful shooting games. Including Fortnite, Unreal Tournament, Gears Of War 1-3 and Gears Of War Judgment, and Bulletstorm to name a few.

As a loot shooter, people can expect a lot of gear drops to equip their character. RPG elements will also play a major role in allowing players to customize their character’s skills and abilities as they progress. In short, Outriders is the latest game that will deliver a gaming experience similar to Destiny 2. The most popular title in its genre.

Outriders pre-orders on Stadia begin today

The game won’t be available until April 1 (that’s no April Fool’s joke, hopefully). But those who want to get a head start on purchasing the game can do so today.

As Outriders pre-orders open in the Stadia Shop at present. Outriders will offer both single player and co-op content to players. Co-op content includes up to two other players, much like a three-person squad in Destiny 2. Which is probably necessary for more difficult content.

The game has already gone through closed betas. So some players have already had the chance to try the game. If you weren’t one of those players, don’t worry. You will have another chance to play the game early. Earlier than expected.

The Outriders will have a playable demo this month, but not for Stadia

The beta may be over, but a playable demo is coming this month. February 25 to be precise. The only downside to the demo is that it won’t be available on Stadia. The demo will also not be available to Epic Games Store users.

However, it will be available on all other platforms the game is released on. That includes PS4 and PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X, and Steam on PC.

You will need an active Square Enix member account to download and play the demo. So it’s worth keeping in mind if you want to try it out. As for the content, the demo includes four hours of playtime. So you get a small portion of what the game looks like to better decide whether you want to buy it or pre-order it.

If you have the material to test the demo when it launches, give it a try.
