If you have more than one Xbox Series X wireless controller and either need or want to charge two at the same time, HyperX has you covered.
It’s the very popular ChargePlay Duo accessory for Xbox that now supports Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, and HyperX says the accessory is available for purchase now. It costs $ 39.99 and costs the same as the ChargePlay Duo for PS4.
In fact, this version of the ChargePlay Duo for Xbox is essentially the same one that HyperX sold before today’s announcement. This new media now simply supports the latest Xbox consoles. It also supports older Xbox consoles. So if you have older Xbox wireless controller models, those will work here as well.
HyperX ChargePlay Duo for Xbox Series X fully charges controllers in 3 hours
Need to get your controllers back online ASAP? Although no accessory can charge your controllers instantly, there are solutions to quickly charge them.
The refreshed ChargePlay Duo will charge your Xbox Series X controllers in less than three hours. Which means if the controllers both die on you, you won’t have to take as much break before you have more battery life.
This battery charging speed is not shown to be faster than before. Just that you can now charge the new version of the wireless controller. However, three hours is not too long considering the time it takes to drain the batteries.
The perfect solution to get rid of AA?
There are advantages to using AA batteries. On the one hand, that means you have one less thing to load. You just use the controller day in and day out and the batteries eventually need to be replaced. But it could take months. And those are months when you don’t have to remember to plug in your controller or dock it.
But it also means that you will have to buy more AA batteries. With something like the ChargePlay Duo for Xbox, that’s not the case. It comes with two batteries to insert into each wireless controller. So you can use the controllers until they need juice.
There are even LED indicators to let you know how far the battery has traveled. Now you can find them on Amazon in addition to the HyperX website. But those on Amazon do not explicitly state that they are the updated model. Which means there is no guarantee that they will work with the new Xbox Series X and S controllers.
