Lenovo’s new gaming phone just lost its first duel

This morning Lenovo announced on Telephone duel of the Legion 2, and already it has been subjected to a durability test courtesy of JerryRigAll Youtube channel.

At first things looked good, but in the end things didn’t go well for the Legion Phone Duel 2, as the durability test shows. Durability tests like these aren’t necessarily representative of how the phone will hold up in real life situations.

At least not entirely. Scratch tests, for example, are quite viable. Because there will be plenty of opportunities for things to scratch your phone screen. Whether it’s keys or coins in your pocket, or a number of other things, you should put it in a bag.

But you’re probably a lot less likely to find yourself in situations where you’re trying to bend your phone in half. That’s not to say it can’t happen accidentally, however. That said, the Legion Phone Duel 2 definitely holds up in some areas but not in others.

The front camera glass, for example, is surprisingly scratch resistant.

The durability of Legion Phone Duel 2 is put to the test

Without mincing words, the Legion Phone Duel 2 doesn’t hold up well to intense pressure. Namely in the middle of the phone. Where it folds in half and cracks.

The problem is the antenna lines. On the right and left sides of the phone, antenna lines are integrated into the metal frame. These antenna lines are not made of metal like the frame. So this unfortunately allows for an easy breaking point on this particular phone.

When all is said and done, the device at this point snaps onto both sets of antenna lines. So even if you aren’t actively trying to bend the phone like in this video, you might want to be careful about how much pressure you put on the device.

This will likely be more of a problem for anyone who gets especially angry during heated gaming sessions. Especially since the construction of the device is configured where you naturally hold it where these lines are.

Duel with other players, not with your phone

The big plus here is that anyone considering the Legion Phone Duel 2 should be a bit more careful with how they handle it.

The telephone is a game powerhouse in terms of hardware. And with it, you can take on other players in your favorite mobile games without breaking a sweat. But you can break your phone if you don’t keep your cool or are careless with your business.
