LeBron James and Stephen Curry showed healthy mutual respect heading into Wednesday night’s game between the Lakers and the Warriors. Ultimately, however, the two guys know they have to cross over to secure a playoff spot.

At the end of the 2020-21 regular season, James called Curry “Our League’s MVP”. Curry enjoyed James’ praise, but he’s not lowering his guard against the defending champions.

“We all know as competitors, however, that when the lights are on, I can talk about his greatness until I’m blue in the face. And he can do the same. It doesn’t change the way he looks. we approach this competition when we are there, ” Curry said Tuesday. “I won’t give him a pass because he likes the way I play this year and vice versa.”

Can Curry continue his impressive season and guide Golden State to the 7th seed? Or will the Lakers be the first Western Conference play-in team to enter the playoff bracket?
