Jaguars Urban Meyer cameos in AEW Chris Jericho-MJF wrestling match
The Khan family is already making the most of their new partnership with Jaguars coach Urban Meyer.
The Jacksonville freshman coach, alongside assistant head coach Charlie Strong, made appearances in AEW’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view on Sunday. The two took part in a sketch with Chris Jericho of The Inner Circle and The Pinnacle’s MJF.
Jericho and MJF came face to face in the brawl, eventually finding their way into Jacksonville’s TIAA Bank Field (the AEW event started in an adjacent amphitheater). Meyer and Strong seemed surprised at first – who wouldn’t, watching Jericho and MJF barge into your office? – before taking action.
First, Strong threw a few balls at Jericho, which he used to peel MJF. Then Meyer handed Jericho a laptop, another excellent makeshift weapon in the game:
The Inner Circle ended up beating The Pinnacle via pinfall.
Meyer tweeted about the experience on Monday, saying they “had a good laugh” watching the skit read. The tweet featured an accompanying photo with Strong, Jericho, and a surprisingly intact MJF.
Tony Khan, son of Jaguar owner Shad Khan, owns AEW. He is also the director of Jacksonville football strategy.
