The Nets announced in the first half of Game 1 that Harden suffered a right thigh injury and would not return.

Harden was injured on a trip to the basket in the first minute. He caught the back of his right leg after passing a pass. Brooklyn coach Steve Nash called for a time-out seconds later and Harden then left the field.
Harden reportedly had an MRI during the game. The results were not disclosed.
How long will James Harden be out?
Nets coach Steve Nash told reporters after Game 1 he was unsure if Harden would be back for Game 2 on Monday.
The fact that this is Harden’s second hamstring injury of the year affects the timing of his return. Harden missed 20 regular season games with tension in the right hamstrings. He returned for the final week and went on to play all five of the Nets’ first round victory over the Celtics.
The Nets exploited some of their depth rolling to a 115-107 victory. Nash plugged Mike James into the rotation, and James responded with 12 points and seven rebounds in 30 minutes, a season-high. He played 10 minutes in total in the Celtics series. Tyler Johnson and Chris Chiozza played the last 86 seconds of the first game with the result already decided.
It should be noted that Kyrie Irving played 45 minutes as a main guard.
