Goldman lowers Kroger and Albertsons rating, saying inflation will hit grocer margins

The return of restaurants and rising food prices are expected to put pressure on grocery store inventories in the coming months, Goldman Sachs said in a note to customers on Tuesday.

Analyst Kate McShane downgraded Kroger to sell from neutrals and Albertsons to neutral in buying, saying businesses were likely to be squeezed by weaker demand and higher costs.
