Dip your teeth into The Walking Dead: Survivors Begin Today
Earlier this month, The Walking Dead: Survivors release date was announced, and that date was today, April 12th. The game launched on the Play Store earlier this morning and is currently available to players in the United States and other regions.
This is a free title, so players can expect a wide range of micro-transactions. Both were intended to fuel the profitability of the game and fund further development. As it will also be an ongoing mobile game that receives periodic content updates.
The release of The Walking Dead: Survivors signals the most recent of several different games based on the franchise. The first arrived on mobile devices years ago thanks to the Telltale Games series.
The Walking Dead: Survivors release is already doing well
The game may have just released today, but it’s already doing pretty well for a day one launch. At least when it comes to mobile games.
On the Play Store, it has over a million downloads. And with that number, it retained a 4.7 star rating. Of all of these installations, there are almost 4,000 reviews at the time of writing. And many of these come with four and five stars.
Suffice it to say, gamers seem happy with the game so far. Will the game be able to maintain this rating over time and players? stay happy with that? Hard to say, but it’s already a good start.
It should be borne in mind that many of these facilities will come from pre-registrations. And it’s likely that many people who installed the game haven’t played it yet. The rating could therefore certainly change considerably over the next few days. Nevertheless, a good rating is a good rating and user reviews seem always high for the time being.
Expect a lot of downtime
One important thing to remember with a lot of games like this is that there is going to be a lot of waiting. As a strategy game, you will have to build defenses from your base to prevent zombies and other players from entering.
And to do this, you will need resources. What you need to collect yourself. Doing this, as well as building parts of your base, will take time. And as you progress through the game and level up, those wait times are going to get longer and longer.
So players should expect a lot of downtime. Unless they’re willing to spend some money on premium in-game currency to speed things up.
