Apple announces new Find My Network for third-party products

Apple just announced the new Find My Network which will allow users to track articles from third-party manufacturers.

New products compatible with the service will be available next week – Belkin’s SOUNDFORM Freedom True wireless headphones, VanMoof’s S3 and X3 e-bikes and the Chipolo ONE Spot item finder.

All new products will be trackable using the new Items tab in the Find My app. You will need iOS and iPadOS 14.3 and macOS Big Sur 11.1 or later to use the new feature.

“For more than a decade, our customers have trusted Find My to locate their missing or stolen Apple devices while protecting their privacy,” said Bob Borchers, vice president of global product marketing, Apple. “We are now bringing the powerful search capabilities of Find My, one of our most popular services, to more people through the Find My Network accessory program. We’re excited to see how Belkin, Chipolo and VanMoof are using this technology, and we can’t wait to see what the other partners are creating. “

Using the Items tab, you will be able to see the item’s last known location, even if it does not connect to the internet through the Bluetooth wireless technology of other Apple devices. The process is end-to-end encrypted and anonymous.
